King Herod (1758–1780) was an influential English Thoroughbred racehorse bred by the Duke of Cumberland. After retiring to stud, he became one of the most important sires of the 18th century. His descendants helped preserve the Byerley Turk sire line and made King Herod one of the foundational figures of modern Thoroughbred breeding.
